(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 2, 2026 – Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team made the 750-mile round-trip trek to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., pay off with a strong second-place showing in a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series make-up race on Friday, Aug. 28.
The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor was quick right out of the gate as he qualified second in the 31-car field with a lap of 10.673 seconds around the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval.
After coming home fourth in the second heat race, Arenz raced to victory in the second four-lap dash to earn his fourth IRA dash win of the 2026 season and the right to start the 30-lap main event from the outside of the front row.
Arenz stayed in the mix for the victory throughout the A main as he hounded polesitter Paul Nienhiser throughout the event. After staying within striking distance for most of the race on a difficult track surface, the two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion fell just short while securing his third second-place showing and sixth podium finish of the 2026 season.
“Jacksonville was a challenge,” Arenz said. “The surface was tricky, and I made too many mistakes lap after lap. If I could have hit my marks more consistently and maneuvered through lapped traffic faster, I would have had a really good shot at the lead. All in all, I’m glad to leave there with a podium.”
Arenz is gearing up for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action, starting Friday, Sept. 4 at the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway “horsepower half mile” in Beaver Dam, Wis. for a ninth annual Harry Neitzel Tribute.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, the IRA heads back to 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis., where Arenz has recorded two of his six 410 Sprint Car A-main victories, including the $26,000-to-win High Limit Racing Rayce Rudeen event last June.
The three-race IRA weekend closes out at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. on Sunday, Sept. 6.
All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com.
