The US Drought Monitor reports no change in the Moderate Drought conditions affecting just over 86% of Sheboygan County since last week. Where there’s no drought – that being the southeast portion – abnormally dry conditions persist.
Soil moisture levels, a significant factor for agriculture, are reading in the bottom 2 percentile in the top one meter of soil, and forecasts for the next month are that such conditions will persist, with the 30-day forecast for September predicting above normal temperatures and likely near-normal precipitation.
