So yesterday the Bucks held their media day in advance of the 2021-22 season. Actually, you know what, let’s start this blog again (ahem):
So yesterday, the reigning NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks held their annual media day in advance of the 2021-22 season during which they’ll be defending their title. There, that looks better.
Anyway, during the course of their time with local and national media, they did divulge that the Deer District will be hosting watching parties for Brewer playoff games. YES! YES! YES! Deer District, meet Beer District. I’m sure people will remember the sea of humanity outside of Fiserv Forum in the later stages of the Bucks’ title run. It’s actually kind of nuts how it transformed. Here’s what it looked like for the watch parties during round 1 against the Heat:

And here’s what it looked like before Game 6 against the Suns:

I believe the kids call that a ‘glow up.’
Anyway, I’m not sure what to expect for a Brewer playoff game, maybe something in between? Either way, it’s a great way to utilize that space during a time of year when it’s not that busy.
Related: How is it possible that the Bucks are at practice today for the new season when my heart rate JUST calmed down after Game 6?? Hard to believe it’s been two months since they brought home the Larry O’Brien Trophy. It feels like it happened last week.
PS: 13 years ago today:
Lindsey and I were in attendance that day, and it’s still one of the coolest, ‘I was there,’ sporting moments of my life. A 26 year playoff drought ended. That’s why we never take days like this past Sunday for granted. It’s crazy to think that 13 years later the whole culture of the franchise has changed. They’ve been in the playoffs for 4 consecutive seasons and they’re getting ready to play a week’s worth of games that mean nothing because the division is already sewn up. Nuts.
