A comprehensive plan to re-make Sheboygan’s streets as safer for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists alike will be reviewed in two separate sessions today.
First, Sheboygan’s Draft Transportation Safety Plan will get a discussion, but no action, at this afternoon’s 4 PM meeting of the Public Works Committee at City Hall. Then, an Open House meeting will take place from 5-7 PM in the Rocca Meeting Room of the Mead Public Library.
The plan, a 212-page document, outlines a host of projects involving crosswalk, signage, curb bump-outs and refuge islands along with major intersection reconstruction – also known as roundabouts.
Intersection projects alone include 14 under $50,000; 16 between 50 and 150-thousand; eleven between 150 and 300-thousand, and two amounting to over $1 million each.
Those who can’t attend the Open House can review the document here.
