A small, artisanal cheese factory is one step closer to coming to Sheboygan. The City Plan Commission approved an application for Thumper and Bones LLC to build their factory and retail space at 816 Michigan Avenue.
The building is already primed for dairy, as it was previously an ice cream shop. Besides the factory and store, three apartments sitting above the shop would be renovated and rented out.
The proposal will now move to the Common Council for final approval. If approved, the new Kickaas Creamery’s store could be up and running in a year, and the creamery in 2028.
