With millions on the move on land and in the air for the Labor Day holiday weekend, law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin are participating in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign against impaired and reckless driving. The Wisconsin State Patrol is going to be in both spheres of travel as well, putting aircraft above in order to keep eyes on the ground for safety.
WSP pilots will, weather permitting, conduct aerial enforcement in seven counties throughout the holiday weekend, their primary objective being the safety of travelers. The operations are announced in advance to reinforce State Patrol’s goal to improve safety through voluntary compliance with traffic laws, and not simply to stop or cite drivers.
That being said, patrols in the sky that observe a violation will communicate with ground-based units to initiate a traffic stop that may result in a ticket. Here’s where they will be:

Thursday, September 3
· I-94 – Eau Claire County
Friday, September 4
· US 18/151 – Iowa County
· WIS 29 – Chippewa County
Saturday, September 5
· I-41 – Outagamie County
Sunday, September 6
· I-41 – Outagamie County
Monday, September 7
· I-41 – Washington County
