A criminal complaint has been filed in Dane County Circuit Court against a 47-year-old Fond du Lac man accused of stalking. The investigation into the stalking has also led to the discovery of numerous human skulls and skeletal remains. The complaint names Benjamin C Larson of Fond du Lac as the suspect in a bizarre case.
The discovery stems from a stalking investigation concerning a victim who described Larson as being obsessed with Ed Gein, a prolific Wisconsin serial killer in the early 1900s that was the inspiration for the Alfred Hitchcock movie Psycho among others. The victim, a therapist, was prompted to report abuse that began in 2013 by another colleague therapist who was treating Larson and became concerned about facts that she’d learned about his past.
A search warrant served on Larson’s home on August 14th discovered numerous human skulls, skeletal remains and other illegally possessed items. So far, Larson has only been charged in the stalking.
Detectives are working with a forensic anthropologist affiliated with the Wisconsin Crime Lab, the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Wisconsin Inter-Tribal Repatriation Committee, and specialized laboratories to determine whether the remains are authentic and whether they are modern-era remains or archaeological Native American remains.
