An electrical fault is the suspected cause of a fire that struck a home in the Village of Eden overnight. A resident living at the house on Fond du Lac Avenue called 911 shortly after 10 PM when smoke and flames were discovered in an upstairs room being used for storage.
Units from Campbellsport, Mount Calvary, the Town of Fond du Lac and the County Sheriff quickly responded, confirmed that the occupants and their pets had safely escaped, and were able to prevent the fire from spreading beyond the storage room.
Some items were destroyed in the room which sustained minor water damage while the rest of the home had minor smoke damage.
The fire is not considered suspicious and there were no injuries.
