(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers continued training camp with another practice yesterday.
Green Bay also added to its front seven after claiming edge rusher Arden Walker off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings.
The Packers continue the preseason when they visit the Denver Broncos tomorrow.
Looking good: Packers coach Matt LaFleur has a few days left to figure out who he and GM Brian Gutekunst want on the final roster.
Does LaFleur have a good idea at this point who will make the roster?
LaFleur was asked how players have adjusted to Jonathan Gannon’s new defense.
LaFleur said that come Friday night he wants to see third-string quarterback Kyle McCord have another good performance in Denver.
LaFleur talked about having Zaire Franklin as a leader on defense.
The head coach said that along the defensive line, he’s been impressed with nose tackle Jonathan Ford.
LaFleur also talked about how Matthew Golden is showing a good connection with quarterback Jordan Love.
From the secondary: Packers safety Xavier McKinney made note of something very important about Packers practices.
As padded practices get more intense each day, is it important to remember you’re hitting a teammate, not an opponent.
McKinney was asked if they can prepare for the thin air in Denver.
McKinney noted that week 1 vs. Vikings will be here soon enough.
While much attention has been focussed on the cornerback positions, McKinney said that every job on defense is up for grabs.
McKinney was also asked at age 33, how much can veteran DL Javon Hargrave help the defense this year.
The Packers fly out to Denver later today.
