Aug 17 (Reuters) – U.S. kindergarten vaccination coverage fell for all reported vaccines during the 2025-2026 school year from the previous school year, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Monday.
Exemptions from one or more vaccines among kindergartners in the United States increased to 4.2% during the 2025-2026 school year from 3.6% the previous school year, the CDC said on its website.
Coverage ranged from 92.0% for the diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis vaccine (DTaP) to 92.4% for the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) and the polio vaccine, the CDC said.
The CDC said coverage for the MMR, DTaP, polio and varicella vaccines decreased in more than half of states, compared with the previous school year.
