An accident on Sheboygan’s southwest side on Saturday afternoon proved fatal to a young visitor to the area. The Sheboygan Police Department says that they were called to the intersection of South 25th and Broadway shortly before 5 PM Saturday, the site of a crash involving a sedan and an e-bike. The e-bicycle operator, a 14-year-old boy visiting from the Beloit area, was transported from the scene by Sheboygan Fire Department ambulance to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries shortly after arrival.
Evidence from the scene along with witness statements led investigators to determine that the 14-year-old e-bike operator was southbound on S. 25th Street and failed to stop for the stop sign at Broadway Avenue where he entered the path of the sedan driven by a 25-year-old Sheboygan man who was not injured. He remained at the scene after the collision and cooperated with the investigation.
