(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 – Following a one-month break on the heels of a career-best 410 Sprint Car showing in their last outing, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team secured another career-best performance with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.
With 33 cars checked in, Hartmann opened the weekend by qualifying 23rd with a time of 12.818 seconds before placing sixth in the third heat race. The sixth-year Sprint Car racer then rolled off fourth in the Last Chance Showdown (B Main) before advancing to second to wrap up the 22nd starting spot in the 35-lap main event.
Hartmann was running in the 22nd position when he pulled off the racing surface with seven laps remaining to end the night with a 22nd-place finish.
On Saturday, Hartmann qualified 24th in the 30-car field and placed seventh in the third heat race. After coming in fourth in the Last Chance Showdown, the Plymouth, Wis. driver rolled off 22nd in the 35-lap headliner.
Hartmann, who recorded a career-best fourth-place showing in a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association event at Shawano Speedway on Saturday, June 13, proved to be smooth and steady throughout the event, dodging incidents and avoiding issues, advancing up the scoreboard en route to a World of Outlaws Series career-best 12th-place finish in a field brimming with touring professionals and regional standouts.
“We never quit working on the car all weekend,” Hartmann said. “Between Eric [Bergschultz] and me, we know what I want for a feel behind the wheel, and Ozzie [Wesener] has tons of experience throughout the years with multiple drivers. I think we’ve hit on something on Saturday. Our qualifying performance wasn’t up to par, but we bounced back later in the night.”
The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is set to hit the road for a Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings tripleheader weekend in Minnesota and North Dakota with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series (MSTS) and Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA).
The weekend kicks off Thursday, July 16, at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., before heading to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday, July 17, and wrapping up the three-race swing at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., on Saturday, July 18.
“I’m super excited with the speed we have for a tripleheader weekend out west with the MSTS and NOSA series,” Hartmann said. “River Cities is my favorite race track, and after a two-year hiatus, I’m excited to get back there. I couldn’t do it without all the support of family and sponsors.”
