(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 19, 2026 – After making a just pair of brief cameo appearances behind the wheel during the 2025 season, Randy Post came out firing in his 2026 Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing-MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car debut on Saturday, May 16, at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.
The Oostburg driver opened his fifth season in the seat of his No. 54 360 Sprint Car by qualifying 27th overall in the 32-car field with a lap of 13.239 seconds around the venerable third-mile semi-banked clay oval.
Post went on to finish sixth after starting seventh in the fourth 8-lap heat race, then finished a strong second from the third starting position in the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B Main.
His second-place B Main run gave him the 18th starting position in the 25-lap main event. Post put together a smooth and consistent race to come home 19th in his first race since July 26, 2025.
“Qualifying was pretty good,” Post said. “It was way loose, but I made it work. For the heat race, we threw some adjustments at the car and may have gone a little overboard. The car was on the snug side for heat. In the B main, the car felt really good once I figured out where the track was smooth enough not to upset the car.
“The A main was tricky,” he said. “I haven’t driven on a rutted-up track like that very much. The only other time I’ve been on a track like that was at Angell Park a couple of years ago. It was a very exhausting race, but it was a lot of fun. I’m glad we made the trek out and were able to put it in the show. After pretty much missing all year last year and just getting back in now with no practice, I was very happy with the results.”
Post is tentatively planning to compete next at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, May 30, and Saturday, June 6.
