Could the favorite teacher in the whole country work right here in Sheboygan County? Your votes will help decide that answer as the process of selecting “America’s Favorite Teacher” is now underway, and Random Lake Science Teacher Natalie Weeks is a strong contender.
The contest is sponsored by Colossal, a nationally-registered professional fundraiser that turns pledges for votes into positive impacts. Monetary pledges aren’t required in order to vote, but donations made in Weeks’ name will support The Planetary Society.
Weeks said that she’s passionate about science and the outdoors, and one of her favorite experiences is taking students on annual hunting and fishing trips. Overall she wants to spark that same passion in her students and if she wins, Weeks said that she’d use some of her $25,000 prize to take a small group of students to a National Park to see the natural wonders it holds. The winner also receives a trip to Hawai’i and will appear in Readers Digest.
