A Sheboygan man was among those sanctioned by the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance in their latest report. The Office is responsible for administering and enforcing the insurance laws of Wisconsin, and action is taken when licensing applicants, or licensed individuals or companies, have violated Wisconsin insurance statutes or regulations.
In its latest report issued on Thursday, Patrick Berg of Sheboygan was ordered to pay a forfeiture of $100.00. The action was taken based on evidence of Berg committing a fraudulent insurance act by knowingly presenting a false claim for payment of a loss.
The OCI said that any forfeitures are deposited in Wisconsin’s Common School Fund, and earnings from that fund are distributed to all publick K-12 schools in the state, and are used by school libraries to purchase materials such as books, newspapers, and computers.
