MAC! If you cry, we’re all going to cry!

Obviously an emotional day for Big Mike. He’s back as a head coach in the NFL, and he’s doing it in the town he grew up in, Pittsburgh. Pretty cool that he gets to coach the franchise he grew up rooting for as a kid.
Now, the clear question that needs to be asked and answered, what does this mean for Aaron Rodgers. Would he come back for one more year in Pittsburgh to reunite with his old coach in Green Bay?? Mike was UNEQUIVOCAL in his response:
New Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy on a potential of reunion with Aaron Rodgers this season

“I don’t see why you wouldn’t… I was able to watch the games on TV, and I think he was a great asset for the team.”
What do you think #Packers fans? pic.twitter.com/rP5CVNrBov
YES! YES! YES! I need this to happen. The two old war horses back together for one last ride. The last time they were a coach/QB combo was 2018 in Green Bay. It was clear at that point that the relationship was souring, and something needed to happen to break them up. And ultimately what happened was Mike got the ol’, “it’s not you it’s me” routine, and was canned during the season.
But that’s 8 years in the rear view mirror! What’s the old saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Maybe in this case it’s absence makes the heart hate your stale play-calling less.
At the end of this season, my opinion on Rodgers was that what happened in Pittsburgh was a great epilogue for him. He got to shake free of the New York stink, won a division title, got back in the playoffs, a nice way to go out. But now I think we need one more year. This would be the PERFECT coda. McCarthy and Rodgers going back to where it all started, and passive-aggressively tolerating each other for one last season. Let’s go!
PS: This is going to sound mean, but I mean it as a compliment: Mike McCarthy looks like a burp.
Double PS: I’m no fan of Bill Belichick or the Patriots, but him not getting the votes to be a first ballot hall of famer this year is a travesty. Clearly the voters wanted to punish him for deflategate, spygate, etc. Maybe they’re even punishing Robert Kraft for massagegate. But this is PETTY. The man has 8 Super Bowl rings. EIGHT. 6 in New England, two in New York. You can have a debate about who the actual ‘greatest coach of all time’ is, but he’s on the Mount Rushmore, and probably no worse than 2nd on that list. Pathetic.
