Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19, as @TomPelissero reported. He’s out Sunday vs. Chiefs.

Packer nation casually checking in on Twitter during a coffee break this morning and reading this:

Cool. Cool cool cool cool.
Well, you had to wonder if these positive results were going to keep cropping up after Davante tested positive last week. 3rd string quarterback, Kurt Benkert tested positive yesterday, and now Rodgers today. Rodgers has to sit at least 5 days, and get a negative test after that, so there is NO chance he plays on Sunday.
Enter: Jordan Love. At least we think. He’s currently the only healthy quarterback on the roster, and given the Benkert and Rodgers news, I don’t think it takes a virologist to hedge bets that Love has at least been in the same room as those guys. But assuming he’s good to go on Sunday, we’re going to get our first look at Love as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers in a game with meaning. A few things on this:
- If there was a defense to do this against, it’s the Chiefs defense. They can’t stop ANYBODY. I’m not saying Love is going to go out there and toss 4 touchdowns and 0 INT’s on Sunday, but on paper, this is the matchup you’d want your (essentially) rookie quarterback to match up against.
- He should have Davante and Lazard back, Bakhtiari seems likely as well, so outside of Rodgers, this will be as healthy as the offense has been all season.
- At some point the future the sun is going to swallow the earth and none of this will matter anyway.
Well let’s hope that Love looks more like Rodgers circa 2007 in Dallas, and less like Seneca Wallace circa 2013 against Philadelphia.
Also, with Rodgers and Benkert down, they’re going to have to sign SOMEONE to be a healthy #2 quarterback. ACTIVATE THE FLYNN SIGNAL:

FLYNN IT TO WIN IT.
PS: So in the offseason, Rodgers was asked if he was vaccinated. He sort of hinted that he was, but used the word ‘immunized’:
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is unvaccinated, per me and @MikeGarafolo. That’s why he’s out for Sunday vs. the #Chiefs.

#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was quoted as saying he’s been “immunized.” By the letter of the law in the NFL, that does not equal vaccinated. https://t.co/g5xyjDZ6uL

I’m going to need someone to explain this to me like I’m 5. Is he vaccinated? It seems like he’s not? What does ‘immunized’ mean in this context?
