Pandering! Pandering! I mean how simple does Team Europe think Wisconsinites are?? Like they’re just going to walk out there in cheeseheads and all of a sudden the American/Wisconsin crowd is going to start rooting for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup? Well if that’s what they think then they are absolutely correct! (buh buh bah, budda da dah) GO EUROPE GO! Vive le France! Vamos Espana! Heil Hit……uh…auf gehts Deutschland!
In all seriousness this is a pretty funny move for the Europeans. For the uninitiated: The Ryder Cup is known for having a much more raucous atmosphere. Louder crowds, more trash talk, not your typical buttoned up PGA Event where you’re supposed to act like you’re at an outdoor library. So a pretty cagey move for Team Europe to appeal to our Packer obsession with the cheeseheads out of the gate. Well played.
PS: It is pretty damn cool that this event is at Whistling Straits. Admittedly, I had not planned on attending any of the days for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is that the Bucks playoff run drained me of most of my discretionary financial resources. But the more pictures and video I see of people attending, the more I’m thinking about snatching up a Sunday grounds ticket. I dunno. This feels pretty ‘once in a lifetime’ and if I don’t go I may regret it. So the options are: A) Don’t go any maybe regret it. B) Go. C) Don’t go and tell people I did in the future so they don’t think I missed out on a good time.
Double PS: Still not worried about the Brewers. Full stop.
