I have the perfect video for this story and it’s the entire reason I’m writing this blog. Are you ready? No? Okay, I’ll wait.
……….
……….
Now? Okay! Here it is:
The rarely seen in the wild 10 out of 10 relevancy rating. Great job, everyone!
Seriously though, this is such a bummer. At least I think it is? Honestly I can’t tell these days if I get fired up because everyone on Facebook is fired up or if I’m actually mad about something. Truth be told, I probably wouldn’t have noticed that the Charlie Brown Halloween special didn’t air on ABC if I hadn’t seen this article getting shared everywhere last night. But since it’s a trending topic I’m upset just like everyone else! Kick rocks, Apple TV!
Whatever your take on this, it is the end of an era. ‘It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown,’ has been airing on network TV every single year since 1966. Initially it was on CBS, then transitioned to ABC in 2001. Now Apple has the rights and it’s no longer going to air on network TV, but will instead stream for free on Apple TV from October 30th-November 1st. So I guess it is still technically free, but if you think I’m going to create an Apple TV account and add another TV app to my Amazon Firestick just to watch this, you’re outside of your mind. I’ll just complain on the internet like a normal person. Screaming into the void 101.
PS: This would have been applicable as well, we got a rock:
Double PS: Halloween in elementary school was one of the GREAT ‘throwaway’ days on the calendar. I remember at St. Dominic’s back in the day, we’d have in-school trick-or-treating, a haunted house in the basement auditorium, and basically the whole school would watch, ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.’ Basically nothing productive happened. Those were the days! Now I’m grown up, and instead of having those days, I have to grind out a 26 hour work week while blogging about, ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.’ Being an adult is the worst.
