MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers are now 7-1 against Pittsburgh this season after beating the Pirates 5-2 Tuesday night at Miller Park. The Brewers went in front for good in the third inning when catcher Jonathan Lucroy singled home a pair of runs. Pirates' starter Gerrit Cole got booed by the Milwaukee crowd when he hit Carlos Gomez with an off-speed pitch in the third inning. But, with a runner on first base, Gomez realized it wasn't done on purpose, and he laughed when he got to first. Gomez is still awaiting word on an appeal of his suspension for his lunge toward Cole, which emptied the benches the last time the two teams played on Easter Sunday. Jean Segura, Scooter Gennett, and Khris Davis each doubled-and-singled for Milwaukee. Marco Estrada got the win, striking out eight in six innings. He gave up one run, a homer to Neil Walker. Estrada threw his sixth quality start of the year, and he's now 3-1. He's also 6-0 lifetime against the Pirates. Cole was tagged for three runs in five-and-two-thirds' frames. The loss dropped him to 3-3. Ryan Braun went 0 for 2 with a walk in his return from the disabled list with a strained oblique muscle. He replaced Aramis Ramirez on the roster. Ramirez went on the D-L with a bad hamstring. The Brewers have now won three straight, and will host Pittsburgh again tonight. Right-hander Wily Peralta faces Pirates' left-hander Francisco Liriano.
