A former Manitowoc Special Education Paraprofessional accused of child sex crimes made an initial court appearance yesterday.
Courtney Haupt appeared by videoconference to face two felony charges including Grooming a Child for Sexual Activity, and Sexual Misconduct by a School Staff or Volunteer and demanded a preliminary hearing.
Haupt has been out on bail since her arrest last month. She will be back in court for that preliminary hearing on October 8th.
If found guilty on both counts, Haupt could face more than 15 years in prison.
