The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of K9 Officer Ace who passed away from medical complications after serving the department for six full years. Ace was partnered with handler, Sergeant Andrew Kohlmann, who together formed a strong bond of complete trust between them. The two were deployed 479 times, resulting in 496 arrests and countless actions defending both deputies and the community while compiling an impressive record.
Ace was responsible for the seizure of significant quantities of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, MDMA, narcotic and prescription medications, and paraphernalia, along with 35 illegally-possessed firearms and more than $100,000 in drug-related cash.
The Sheriff said that the partnership of Ace and Sergeant Kohlmann mad a lasting difference in Fond du Lac County and was a driving force in the growth of the K9 program there.
