A new fact sheet from the Wisconsin Office of Children’s Mental Health highlights the connection between youth vaping and mental health. Director Linda Hall says a third of high school students report having vaped.
Hall noted that “We know that kids are trying it because they’re curious about it or they’re stressed and they think it’s going to help them with their stress. But unfortunately what it often does is create a cycle of stress because these vapes are packed with nicotine. One vape has as much as 600 cigarettes”
Vaping can have an outsized impact on young people because their brains are still developing. A deeper dive can be found in the fact sheet on the Wisconsin Office of Children’s Mental Health website.
