So we had the news of Tony Romo getting arrested in Milwaukee at the end of last week, and the body cam footage of that arrest and his sobriety test made the rounds last night.
Before we get to anything else: Tony Romo has to be the first person in Marquette Interchange history to get pulled over for passing in the right lane. I drive those routes during basketball season a TON. People going 25 mph over the speed limit and passing in the right lane is the LEAST of your problems. It’s THUNDERDOME!
Also: I have never heard the term “gore” in my life as it relates to driving. This officer seemed stunned that Tony didn’t know what was being referenced. Apparently it’s this:
Maybe I’m just a dolt (possible) but I’ve never heard the term for that area of a highway/interstate.
Anyway, while I know we shouldn’t ever make light of an OWI, I did kind of laugh at his, “headed to Grandma and Grandpa’s house” explanation. “OPE! Yah I was just headed over to meemaw and peepaw’s house for some casserole before I head back to Dallas.” He just fell right into that Midwest dialect.
Now here is the footage of the actual sobriety test:

The fact that he went through an entire warmup like he was getting set to take on the Eagles for a 3:25 kickoff was hilarious. “Two back surgeries, guys. Got to activate my glutes and open up my hips!”
Also the, “did I pass this test?” “Turnaround.” “No? I didn’t…” exchange was laugh out loud funny (again, for the record, I don’t find any of this funny).
And finally, the NFL Meme’s Twitter account with an A++ job on this video:

Perfect, no notes. No notes? No notes!
PS: I’d bet dollars to donuts that Tony was texting Jim Nantz while all of this was going down. “Can I call my lawyer?” Jim Nantz on the other line: *HEAVY* sigh.
Double PS: I saw this video MANY years ago, and I think about it often. NSFW language, but Tony should have heeded this advice:
