Sheboygan’s City Plan Commission has put a temporary, 12-month ban on large data centers within the city. The measure doesn’t mean a total ban, but discussions on any centers that encompass at least 10,000 square feet of floor area within either a single building or a collection of them on a single parcel within city limits will have to wait for the City to develop regulations on the establishments. Once those are passed by the full council, data center plans could begin moving forward under the new rules.
