Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Dept
A wanted felon was taken into custody following a high-risk traffic stop on Sunday. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy parked on Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Friendship clocked a vehicle going southbound at 91 MPH in a 50 MPH zone and attempted to make a stop – to no avail.
The suspect tried evading the officer by turning into a driveway, but was soon located again on Lakeshore Drive approaching North Fond du Lac where the driver sped up until coming to a stop at Franklin Avenue. That’s where a high-risk stop was conducted and the two persons in the car were taken into custody.
The passenger was released, but the 37-year-old Oshkosh man behind the wheel was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on chase-related charges of OWI, fleeing and eluding, lewd and lascivious behavior, and second-degree reckless endangering safety.
Bail jumping charges were added, as the man had two active warrants out of Winnebago County including a felony warrant for failure to appear on charges of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and resisting or obstructing an officer. The second warrant was for misdemeanors.
