(editors note: the original headline suggested the men were local residents. We’ve been informed by SPD Chief Zempel that they were arrested in Sheboygan, but are not residents here. We regret the confusion.)
An ongoing investigation by the Whitewater Police Department Detective Bureau, with assistance from the UW-Whitewater Police Department, Sheboygan Police Department, Sheboygan County MEG Unit, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Sheboygan Falls Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation has resulted in arrests of two subjects in the City of Sheboygan.
Whitewater Police allege that the two were involved in multiple overnight vehicle entries in the City of Whitewater during the month of May, and allege that 19-year-old Lamar Early, who has no permanent address, was one of those committing the crimes. The other was not identified pending possible additional charges in the case. A search of a Sheboygan Falls residence after the arrests yielded evidence tying the two to the Whitewater crimes.
Early is in the Sheboygan County jail on charges of a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Burglary, Unauthorized use of another’s personal ID (4 counts), Theft of a firearm, Theft, Financial transaction card crimes, Trespassing, and Disorderly Conduct. He will be transferred to Walworth County at a later date.
Anyone with further information on the case is encouraged to contact the Whitewater Police Department at (262) 473-0555, or through the www.P3Tips.com website where one can remain anonymous.
