Wh……what……..huh??
I’ve never seen anybody be so casual about a clear home run robbery in my life. Every video I see of a home run saving catch it’s a guy crashing into a wall, snapping his wrist over the top to snatch a ball back, the crowd is going nuts, etc. Blake Perkins treated that catch like it was a lazy stretch getting out of bed on Sunday morning. That was a yawn. It was the catch equivalent of a yawn. A home run robbery looking like a can of corn pop fly during a Wednesday day game in the middle of June. Wild!
Also, I could watch this side-by-side video of Gary Sanchez and Garrett Mitchell’s back-to-back triples in the 8th inning all day:

A gazelle and a water buffalo achieving the exact same endgame. How can you not be romantic about baseball??
PS: I started beating this drum on the podcast during the first week of the season and I intend to keep beating it like a toddler in a music room: Extend Brice Turang. I know the Brewers are frugal with long term contracts for young players (Yeli and Braun pretty much the only examples of them doing it), and I know we have a TON of high-level middle-infield prospects at the moment (Jett Williams, Cooper Pratt, Jesus Made, Luis Pena), but Turang feels like he needs to be the exception to the typical Brewer rule. Nico Hoerner signed a 6 year, $141 million dollar deal with the Cubs this season, that’s a pretty good comp for Turang (Turang is better). MAYBE you could get away with a 5 year, $110 or $120, but it’s time to give it a serious look.
Double PS: I’m starting to get concerned about the whereabouts of Billy Jr, the rally tortoise that Murphy introduced us to two weeks ago.
