The Wisconsin’s Supreme Court’s liberal majority has been strengthened as Judge Chris Taylor defeated Maria Lazar – the candidate favored by conservatives, both on the State and Sheboygan County levels. Preliminary results showed Taylor taking the win with more than 60% of statewide voters making her the winner. Sheboygan County results were narrower with Taylor garnering 15,238 votes to Lazar’s 14,474 – a 764 vote margin. The State Supreme Court now has a 5-2 liberal majority through at least 2030.
Only one County Supervisor Seat was challenged, and the 7th District seat was taken by challenger Drew Phillips who unseated incumbent Ed Procek 278-222.
The Sheboygan Common Council District-2 Aldermanic seat has a new occupant as Erin Bremser defeated incumbent John Belanger 885-498.
In District-10, Bryan Kelly defeated Peter Jacobs 394-342.
