BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dog beer?!?! And here we thought 2020 was going to be written off as a total loss*! In the middle of social unrest, an election, and a pandemic, Busch is here to make sure that when you’re enjoying an ice cold Busch Light on a Tuesday afternoon and ignoring the world around you, your best friend can enjoy one too! Brilliant!
Cue all of the haters and losers (of which there are many!) saying that this dog beer probably has more flavor than the actual beer. Har har. As we’ve been over many times on this blog, I have scumbag beer taste; PBR, Busch Light, regular ol’ Budweiser, Miller Lite, those are all in my wheelhouse. My palette was basically born in a 1990’s beer commercial. I make no apologies.
Related: Due to many things going on in my personal life, I completely whiffed on obtaining any 30 racks of Busch Light Apple when it was hot in the streets about a month ago. I was talking about that on the air a week ago, and lo and behold, my subliminal messaging worked and a listener brought me 6 that he still had in his fridge! Admittedly, I was a bit nervous to give it a try. Generally speaking I’m not a cider guy, and my fear was that the slopping foam that I normally drink was going to be transformed into apple juice. Not so! It had a little hint of apple flavor right at the end. Not overwhelming at all. All of the traditional flavor you’ve come to expect from Busch Light with just a tiny ‘zing’ at the end. 8/10 would drink a couple two-tree at a Fall bonfire again.
*And getting married. That was also a positive from 2020. Whew, almost blew that one.
PS: Maybe this would still be considered ‘scumbag’ beer by some, but this is one of the notable exceptions I make in my basic beer menu:
I think they actually dropped this past weekend. I’ll snatch them up because they disappear quickly, but I can’t drink an Oktoberfest beer until we’re past Labor Day and it’s less than 70 degrees outside. I can’t explain why that is, but that’s how my brain works.
