Lindee Brill, Republican Representative for the 27th Assembly District
Legislation to add four full-time positions to a Department of Justice task force has received unanimous support in the State Assembly in Madison. Sheboygan Falls Republican Lindee Brill authored AB958 which authorized adding the positions to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and AB957 which funds them.
Brill said that the task force saw rates of CyberTips grow from 3,505 in 2020 to 19,909 by the end of last year, and they’re required to review every one received. The bills are widely supported by law enforcement, including the Wisconsin District Attorneys’ Association which spoke in their support a week ago. They still need passage by the Senate before going on to the Governor for his signature.
