The Sheboygan Fire Department welcomed in the new year by going to work on Thursday night.
Multiple reports say that the Engine 1 crew responded to the 10-hundred block of Alabama Avenue last night to reports of a clothes dryer on fire in the basement of the home, which was filled with smoke. Water lines were used to put out the primary fire and with a second unit called in to help, ventilation was begun.
One person was reported at the scene when firefighters arrived; it’s not known how many, if any persons, were displaced.
