Among the four persons that offered themselves for consideration to fill the unexpired term of Sheboygan District-4 Alder Robert Lafave, the Common Council chose a person who is a prominent figure in the UAW Union at Vollrath Company.
Alanza Grawien is the current chair of the Education Committee of UAW Local 1472 at Vollrath, as well as the Chair of the Region 4 Northcentral Women’s Council. Grawien was selected and promptly sworn in during the first portions of Monday’s Common Council meeting at City Hall and began her work immediately. She will serve until the spring of 2026 when the post comes up for election for the next full term.
