Quick work saved a home and its occupants in the Town of Fond du Lac on Monday evening.
The County Sheriff said a fire broke out around 6 PM in a home just southeast of the City of Fond du Lac on County Road “V”. A woman said her roof was on fire, emitting smoke, and that she, her two children and a dog were able to safely get out.
Responders located fire in the attic space where insulation had apparently been ignited by an aging electrical system. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, limiting fire damage to the attic space and smoke damage to a room. There were no injuries to report.
