It looks to be a busy night for the Sheboygan Common Council when it meets at 6 tonight in City Hall.
The City of Sheboygan is likely to have its first female…and first appointed City Attorney following tonight’s Common Council meeting.
Liz Majerus, who was tagged to fill the City Attorney duties for Sheboygan when former Attorney Charles Adams stepped down in March, is getting that recommendation from Mayor Ryan Sorenson and City Administrator Casey Bradley.
After months of discussion concerning Adams, who was accused of ethics violations, it was decided that the new City Attorney position would be filled by appointment rather than by vote. Majerus is expected to be approved by the Council and would assume the role immediately.
Among other agenda items is a closed session to discuss actions after a Sheboygan County Circuit Court ruling in favor of Sheboygan Police Lieutenant William Adams, who was suspended earlier this year. The Court ruled that Adams be reinstated with back pay and a return to his lieutenant position.
Another item being considered is a proposed contract for the Harbor Centre Marina and associated facilities. Edgewater Resources of Madison would be contracted for services not to exceed $3.29 million, which would put Sheboygan’s waterfront revitalization plan in motion.
