Department of Public Works employees are putting the wraps on park operations and closing some facilities for the season.
The DPW has announced that Evergreen Park is now closed to vehicular traffic and all open-air shelters and picnic areas have been closed for the season. Beginning on October 15th, most City of Sheboygan park restrooms will also close until spring, with only the Deland Community Center and the Grace Pavilion at the Shaw Family Playground remaining open. Portable restrooms will be maintained at Vollrath Park, the South 18th Street dog run, Jaycee Quarry Park disc golf course, the South Pier Drive turnaround, and at the Maywood Environmental Center.
It’s not too soon to plan ahead for next year, though, as park rental registrations for 2026 will be accepted online beginning at 7 AM Monday, October 6th.
