As the summer road construction season enters its home stretch, several Sheboygan County projects are following suit, changing as the jobs progress towards completion.
The Highway 28 reconstruction from the south County line to Waldo has mostly finished the phase of replacing the bridge over the north branch of the Milwaukee River in Cascade, however the hard closure remains in place for now. For the rest of this week, crews will conduct beam guard grading, and the final lift of asphalt will start next week, continuing until about the second week of September.
A full closure of Highway 32 between Cedar Grove and Sheboygan Falls will be in place beginning this Friday. Box culvert replacement continues at Highway G in Cedar Grove, and just south of Palmer Road where a new drainage facility will be emplaced. Asphalt paving at the box culvert just south of Wilson-Lima Road will be restored, and the full closure will allow work to take place on the box culvert just south of CTH “N”. The full detour is expected to be in place until mid-September. On Friday, a new detour using Highway 28 and I-43 will begin. The full project will take until the end of October to complete.
