Summer fun season is in full gear for this first August weekend in the Sheboygan area, beginning with Sheboygan Jaycees Brat Days on Saturday. One big change in this year’s free event is the absence of a parade on Saturday, but Kiwanis Park will be ground-zero for everything else. The site will host a carnival, marketplace, brat eating contest, and musical entertainment for twelve full hours from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. This year marks the continuation of a festival that began 72 years ago to celebrate Sheboygan’s signature sausage.

Another well-known Sheboygan event is the Coho Derby, running in a simplified form this year. The usual food and entertainment grounds will not be found on the lakefront, but rather The Wharf on Sheboygan’s riverfront will be the headquarters beginning tomorrow and wrapping up on Sunday. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at The Wharf.
Festivals are also being held in Cascade and Cleveland, and so wherever you find yourself in Sheboygan County this weekend, there’ll be plenty of ways to celebrate summer.
