Area motorists will find Wisconsin DOT crews active on a portion of I-43 in Sheboygan County this week. Today (Monday) and Thursday, maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on both north, and southbound I-43 at Garton Road and Orchard Road between 6 AM and 4 PM each day. Lane closures will be in place at those work sites.
As workers finish work on the Highway 28 bridge in Cascade, attention now will be on milling and paving Highway 28 from the south County Line, northward to eventually finish at Waldo. That work is expected to take until the end of September to complete.
On the Highway 32 project, work began in earnest last week on a box culvert at the north limit of Cedar Grove, just south of County Highway G, where a stream was diverted, an old culvert removed and the new culvert replacement was begun. While that continues this week, crews will also pour the top of a box culvert just south of Wilson-Lima Road and begin placing the waterproofing. Attention will then return to complete culvert replacement at Cedar Grove.
This is all part of the first phase of the project between Cedar Grove and Highway “V”. Once complete, work on phase 2 between “V” and Sheboygan Falls will begin. The project is expected to take until the end of October to be entirely done.
