As was suspected by forecasters, it appears that a round of Lake Effect Snow will impact Sheboygan County overnight, prompting the National Weather Service to extend the Winter Weather Advisory only for Sheboygan County until 6 a.m. Sunday. The remaining advisories expire at 6 tonight.
A line of snow showers oriented north-south is expected to develop over western Lake Michigan this evening into tonight, drifting over land long enough to produce 1-3 inch accumulations.

After 3-4 inches accumulated overnight, light activity shifted northward for much of Saturday, however the Lake Effect being discussed will be an element on its own with limited coverage. It shouldn’t linger long, exiting mostly before noon on Sunday. Afterwards winds pick up, gusting to 35 mph Sunday afternoon while temperatures maintain the low 20s until nightfall. Then, bitter arctic air will hold sway through midweek with Monday and Tuesday morning windchill values in the 20s below zero, possibly triggering Cold Weather Advisories. Actual temperatures will waver above and below zero until Thursday when they may again top 20 degrees.
