Nine years ago today! Nine years ago today I made my debut on the Sheboygan Scanner page: “Reports of a woman screaming, 31 (M) just watching the Packer game.”
Honestly this whole video feels like a different world. Rodgers still in his prime in Green Bay, the Lions still mired in the middle of decades of incompetence, Eddie Lacy hadn’t china-fooded his way out of the league, hell Mike McCarthy could still smile!
Nine years later and Rodgers is in Year 2 of submarining a once (like literally, once) proud franchise in New York, the Lions are not only contenders but Super Bowl favorites, Eddie Lacy is off of MSG and on to yoga, and Mike McCarthy is on to MSG and off of championship aspirations. What a whirlwind!
But this has to be a good omen for Thursday, right? A memory like this popping up the week of a massive matchup between the Packers and Lions in Detroit must mean something outside of basic scheduling and calendars. We’re adding this as an off-air podcast gambling pick: Packers +3.5.
PS: Still my favorite fan-reaction video to this was Detroit Don and Superfan:
Detroit Don literally got sent to Shadow Realm. Knocked clean off of his feet!
