The City of Sheboygan will be conducting a post-election audit of its voting system beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 26th in Conference Room 106 of City Hall. The Wisconsin Elections Commission selects municipalities throughout the state in order to assure that the equipment and procedures used during the General Election worked properly, and can also detect any discrepancies that may have occurred using a hand count of paper records to ensure that correct outcomes were achieved.
In Sheboygan’s case, Wards 8, 11 and 21, which utilize the ClearVote 2.3 ClearCast Go tabulator and ClearAccess 2.3 A.D.A. voting systems are involved. Those wards were randomly selected by the Wisconsin Elections Commission, and according to City Clerk Meredith DeBruin, other municipalities in the County were also selected.
The audit is open to the public, and results will be posted by the Wisconsin Elections Commission once the process is complete.
