Sweet sassy MOLASSY. The world’s tallest single rail roller coaster. Speeds of up to 58 mph and a zero gravity roll. Live look at me after just watching the POV video:
‘I had to run in front of the car!’
Admittedly this thing looks pretty badass. I haven’t been to Six Flags in Gurnee in about 20 years, but I always had a great time when I went. By far my favorite coaster there is the Raging Bull. My buddies and I went there one summer when we were back from college and I think we rode that bad boy about 10 straight times and just went home. Viper is always fun, Batman is a blast but you have to wait two hours for a 38 second ride (grow up), but by far the most thrilling coaster I’ve ever been on is the American Eagle. Not scary because of the speed or the death defying turns, scary because I’m pretty sure it was the first roller coaster ever built and a gentle breeze might knock it over. That thing is held together by hope, Flex Seal, and staples.
But I think if Gurnee ever got something like this I’d give it a shot. My guess is you need to pay for two days of admission just to make it through the line to ride it once, but it seems like it could be worth it.
PS: I know I come off as a really cool, trendy guy on the blog, but the truth is I was a bit of a nerd growing up. One of my favorite computer games? Roller Coaster Tycoon:
I couldn’t explain to you what I thought was entertaining about this game, it’s essentially all of the work of running a fake amusement park with none of the fun, but I played it religiously for about a year.
Double PS: The guy in that commercial looks like he’d be a Sugar Ray cover band.
