A bullseye edited onto a picture of State Senator Dan Feyen by an opponent’s campaign volunteer is being labeled a “call on violence” by the Senator. The picture, which shows Senator Feyen at a table following the Random Lake parade last Sunday, was accompanied by the text “I have him in my bullseye.” The post by Scott Milheiser of Manitowoc, a volunteer for State Representative Timothy Ramthun, was re-posted on the Representative’s campaign facebook page. Ramthun is running against Feyen for the Republican nomination for Senate District 20 in the August primary.
Feyen campaign Manager Tim Lakin stated that “In a time when Democrat Joe Biden said that Americans should put a bullseye on Donald Trump and days later an assassin tried to take his life, this type of statement is downright wrong and dangerous.” He concluded by stating that “Words and actions need to have consequences and I want this threat taken seriously; this type of political hate cannot continue.”
The incident has been turned over to Wisconsin State Capitol Police for investigation.
