Six candidates have tossed their hats into the ring to fill the 3rd District Aldermanic Seat vacated when Amanda Salazar resigned upon moving from her district. Tonight, the Common Council will elect the person who will serve out the remainder of Salazar’s term which ends in April of 2025. The candidates are Michael Close, Senior Business Analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank; Daniel Peterson, a Radiologist and Director of the Women’s Imaging Center at Aurora Medical Center and Clinic in Sheboygan; Andy Ross, a former District 3 Alderperson and current Co-Owner & Vice President of Ross Glove Company; Donald Martens, a retired corporate Vice President who serves as the Board Treasurer for the Early Bird Rotary Club of Sheboygan’s “Making Spirits Bright” program; Jamie McDonald who, with her husband, owns Riverhouse Home Developers and manages properties in Sheboygan; and Kurt Jensen, owner of the 8th Street Ale Haus in Sheboygan.
The election will take place shortly after the Common Council convenes at 6 p.m. tonight in City Hall.
