A 22-year-old Milwaukee Man now stands to be tried for his alleged 5th OWI after a chase and arrest in Fond du Lac on Monday evening…and he hasn’t yet been convicted for his third and fourth offenses.
The chase began on Northbound I-41 at Highway 151 in Fond du Lac after an unsafe move to exit the highway, but the driver continued through red lights back onto I-41, leading Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Troopers on a back-and-forth path that eventually ended only a few miles from where it started, but not until tallying 8-miles in the process with the operator at times driving with lights out, narrowly missing a State Trooper during one of the three reversals on County Highway “D”, and finally coming to a stop near Commerce Court on Fond du Lac’s southwest outskirts.
The suspect had already been convicted of his first two OWI offenses, was out on bail awaiting trial on his third and fourth, and if convicted of his fifth, could face up to 10 years in prison, fines, license revocations and more.
