Anyone interested will have the chance to sound off on Sheboygan’s new annual budget before its anticipated approval at tonight’s Common Council meeting.
Sheboygan’s proposed tax document lists total expenses of $45.38 million, covered in part by revenues of $44.21 million. That doesn’t include the Water Utility budget that’s still to be approved by Commissioners. To pay for it all after accounting for state and federal funds, $27,128,455 in property taxes would be required, requiring a mill rate of 6.636 cents per hundred thousand dollars. That’s down from 7.405 this year and 8-and-a-quarter cents last year. Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Council Chambers at City Hall.
Meanwhile, The Sheboygan County Board will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Sheboygan County Courthouse with approval of the County’s 2024 budget, tax levy and rate up for approval. Also up for action tomorrow evening are authorization for a Labor Contract Agreement with the Sheboygan County Law Enforcement Employees’ Association, new wage ranges for County employees, new sanitary and shoreland ordinances, and amendments to the Board of Adjustments.
