It seems to be the luck-of-the-draw this winter when it comes to winter storms in our area, with several having threatened the worst, only to fizzle out – at least for us. Regardless, the National Weather Service needs to advise of the threat just in case, and so a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for much of Southeastern Wisconsin including the Sheboygan Area between 3 a.m. and Midnight on Thursday.
Whether you’re in northwest Sheboygan County, where 3 to 5 inches could fall, or in the southeast where between 4 and 7 inches are possible, it does appear that we’ll all be dealing with dangerous conditions of slippery roads and gusty winds that will cause drifting on area roads. And if things go just right – or wrong depending on your position – Lake Michigan could add just a bit more along the shore where the National Weather Service advises that snowfall rates could reach 2 inches per hour at times.
If there’s a good part to this one, they say it should be a quick-hitter, leaving Friday sunny and cold for those who need to clean up in the storm’s wake.
