With hot weather covering the area, National Weather Service forecasters are advising caution for those seeking relief at the lakeshore.
Temperatures are again likely to approach 90 degrees with stifling humidity making it feel even hotter. But with Lake Michigan water temperatures at Sheboygan now reported at 68 degrees, welcome relief can be just a dip or boat ride away.
No beach hazard advisories were in effect this morning, but that could change later today with a moderate swim risk expected for Sheboygan tonight. Forecasters are also issuing a Small Craft Advisory beginning at 7 this evening from Sheboygan southward as southwest winds pick up to between 15 and 25 knots, and they caution that inexperienced mariners – especially those operating smaller vessels – should avoid boating those waters tonight through Wednesday morning.
