SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – One good side effect of staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic was noted on Tuesday by the Sheboygan Police Department – a significant reduction in accidents. The SPD says that compared to this time last year, accidents are down 26% – a figure they labeled an “all-time low.”
Now that restrictions are easing, traffic is destined to increase once again, but police say that the accident rate doesn’t have to. They say that incorporating safe driving practices are no different than efforts needed to combat the virus. Being aware of surroundings, obeying traffic laws and making responsible decisions can keep accident rates low, a goal we should all aspire to.
